In a heartfelt celebration of perseverance, passion, and achievement, Kalandra Education Group held its bi-annual graduation ceremony on Friday, April 4, 2025, at the Fickling Convention Centre in Mt Roskill. Despite the wet Auckland weather, spirits were high as proud whanau, friends, and educators gathered to honour the graduates.
This event marked the first graduation for 2025, celebrating students who were awarded qualifications across a range of programmes, including the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Levels 3 and 4) and the Diploma in Dementia Care (Level 5).
The ceremony featured a keynote address by Orquidea Tamayo Mortera, President of the New Zealand Society of Diversional and Recreational Therapists (NZSDRT), who spoke about the critical role of trained, compassionate carers and the impact they have on individuals and communities.
Family members and friends applauded the achievements of the graduates, many of whom began their journeys as international students or career changers—united by a shared commitment to make a meaningful impact in Aotearoa’s healthcare sector.
The wet weather couldn’t dampen the joy and pride as the ceremony closed with hugs, photos, and the promise of bright futures ahead.
Congratulations to Kalandra’s Graduates — we can’t wait to see what you’ll do next!
