Basic Healthcare Course is for those wishing to enter into healthcare, the course provides basic therotical information such as;

  • Role of the Caregiver and Professional Conduct: Responsibilities, ethical behaviour, and adherence to the code of conduct.
  • Health and Safety at Work: Ensuring a safe workplace, preventing hazards, and understanding infection control.
  • Providing Personal Care: Supporting mobility, assisting with washing, bathing, eating, drinking, and bed-making.
  • Communication and Cultural Sensitivity: Effective communication with individuals from diverse backgrounds, respecting cultural differences.
  • Health Monitoring and Reporting: Recognising pressure injuries, recording and reporting concerns, and following care plans.
  • Medication Support: Understanding responsibilities when managing prescribed and pre-packaged medications under supervision

 

This module is delivered online and is learner driven. There is no maximum time required to complete the set learning hours.  

Estimated number of hours: 20 hours theory and counts for 15 hours of professional development hours. No assessment is provided.
