Programme Overview:
In response to the changing dynamics of learning, this certificate is online and learner led with a lecturer available for support as required. Using digital means, the learners can watch clinical skill sessions and then practice these during their clinical placement when they enter New Zealand.
Graduates of this certificate will gain transferable skills and knowledge related to basic physiological, safety and belongingness needs of persons in health & wellbeing settings. Graduates will have an understanding of their role, responsibilities and obligations and their duty of protection and care of the vulnerable person as well as knowledge of the practical skills required to care for the vulnerable person on a daily basis.

Approximately 40 hours of learning per module.
Recommended Entry Criteria:
- 18 years of age and over
- IELTs academic overall band score of 5.5 (no band lower than 5) or recognised equivalent
- Clear criminal check
- Physically able and willing to work with the vulnerable person
Pathways:
This certificate is equivalent to the New Zealand Level 3 so can be used as entry to the Kalandra Level 4 Hybrid programme.
