A person who wishes to truly care for a patient must consider not only the needs of the body but also those of the spirit, and mind. The carer recognises that the person may have social, family, and religious considerations that are integrated into the care. This is the holistic approach with the patient at the centre of the care.
The module enables the learner to understand and recognise a person’s holistic needs, including incorporating their personal care needs, and how best to meet these. The learner recognises that changes may occur and what to do; how to report these and respond.
This module is delivered online and is learner driven. There is no maximum time required to complete the set learning hours.
Estimated number of hours: 20 hours theory and counts for 15 hours of professional development hours. No assessment is provided.
